Keep Moving, Keep Digging

Keep digging, Keep moving

About almost there: I felt like as the semester continued on my classmates may have left me in the wind but it's cool. I got hit with a lot of responsibilities but while doing these assignments, The A6 Spreadsheet Analysis with Trailer was a nifty assignment, I did need help and the Professor did walk me through so that I understood it's importance and relevance. Would I need this in the future? Maybe, it's not set in stone. I would comeback to this if I need to so I'm glad it'll be here if I need it.

Chapter 5.10.2 Pivot Tables: PivotTables are a great way to navigate through data, as an example from the LabSim module; If you have information regarding making data easier to sift through let's say your bakery business, You can use your table to see which pastry is popular, how much money you made in a length of time and what you sell your pastries for. You can design and style them and format how you want your data to be seen.

My thoughts: Phase 2 was great for getting me exposure to Excel, I never thought I would need to touch it but of course it has it's uses. My mom's an office manager and I told her that I'm certified in Excel and she needed my knowledge to help her with this and boy did she need help, Sorry mom LOL but I was glad to help and glad that I got to help her! The mission is to stay ahead but there will always be obstacles :) I will try to keep discipline up, if you wait on motivation; You'll be waiting for a long time!

  2. Hi Nicholas, that's awesome that you were able to help your mom with excel and show off some of your skills. Things can get tough sometimes responsibilities can pile up no need to beat yourself up. I really like pivot tables they are a great way to divide up information and have a bit more clarity. Have a great summer break!

  3. Hi Nicholas. It is awesome that you taught how to use Excel to your mom. I wish her good luck on her career. I like how PivotTables makes studying more efficient by hiding categories of data that are not needed.

  4. Hey Nicholas, I had mixed feelings about the topic you picked. 5.10.2 was challenging for me and was very confusing. I was glad though that it's not only over but I actually got to understand it in the end.

  5. Hi Nicholas, it's great to see what you gained from the pivot tables topic, I honestly overlooked it while completing the assignment and didn't notice how valuable it could be for a business. It's cool to know you were able to immediately help your mother with what you learned in excel.

  6. Hi Nicholas, helping your mom with Excel after getting certified is actually really cool because it shows the class skills can be useful outside school too. And honestly the “if you wait on motivation, you’ll be waiting for a long time” line is so true.

  11. Hi Nicholas, I understand what you mean about discipline. Motivation disappears really fast sometimes, especially when responsibilities outside school start piling up. I also agree that the A6 Spreadsheet Analysis assignment was more useful than expected because it actually showed how Excel can be practical in real situations. Also, helping your mom using the Excel skills you learned from class is honestly a pretty good reminder that these assignments are not just random schoolwork. Keep moving forward, even if it feels slow sometimes.

  12. Hello Nicholas. Anything that helps navigate through data easier fascinates me because in the past I usually would've taken the equivalent of the hard way when it comes to tables of information. Now that I know how to use all these tools, I feel less pressure in general with data. It's really nice that you were able to assist your mom!

  13. Waiting on motivation is like having an answer in a math that equates to negative zero. It doesn't exist at all. Responsibilities are a hard hitting reality of life that we have to face that's why I resonate with what you said about our professor guiding us doing the right answer. Yes, it would not be useful today but circumstance might change and the next thing we know, we will need the knowledge stored. Good for you to help your mom with excel! You need a lot of patience on that one.
